Sale of Antique Scales and Other Art

Non-ferrous metals and cast iron have been linked to art for thousands of years. They remain popular materials for decorative hardware and sculpture, and you could find them in almost every antique shop. Mr. Jaroslav Calta has been offering mainly semi-finished products and pre-final components for over 30 years. However, due to his lifelong passion for metallurgy, he has also collected and crafted a wide range of artistic objects. Now, as part of modernizing our storage facilities, we are offering part of this collection for sale.
 
The collection includes over 40 antique cast-iron balance scales (also called a two-pan balance, merchant’s scale, or vintage weighing scale). These scales were commonly used in households and shops during the 19th and early 20th centuries, and they typically feature cast iron bodies with brass pans. Some are original, while others have been partially or fully restored.
